Titi Lamositele to depart Saracens for Montpellier

USA Eagles front-rower, Titi Lamositele is to depart Saracens for Montpellier at the end of the current European professional season. The 25-year-old from Washington state moves from England to France after five years as a Saracen.

With two RWC campaigns to his name, Lamositele is well-known across the rugby globe. He has 32 test caps for the USA, with them split between the loose head prop and the tight head prop position.

Lamositele made his test debut against Canada in 2013 at the age of 18. The following year he played for the USA u20s and was starting for his country at a RWC as a prop aged just 20.

Since then, the development of Lamositele has been linked to Saracens. His time there, however cannot continue due to the club being relegated to the second division based on cheating the salary cap. The club’s irregular books now see many players exiting, with Lamositele’s services going to French club, Montpellier.

In moving to Montpellier, Lamositele is completing the circle started by Saracens teammate, Juan Figallo. The Argentine prop played for Montpellier before joining Saracens and now, the Eagles front-rower is soon to be confirmed at the French club.

Lamositele’s move to France is to be a two-year deal. This will see him playing for the Top 14 club in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons.

It will be an opportunity for Lamositele to add more titles to his resume. With Saracens he won multiple titles in the English Premiership and the European Champions Cup.
