Canada to play Wallaroos in July double-header

Canada’s National Senior Women’s XVs team will travel down under to take on their Australian counterparts as part of an international double-header on July 18. Townsville’s brand new Queensland Country Bank Stadium will host the match with the Wallabies set to play Fiji on the same day.

The fixture was initially set to be part of a new annual tournament pitting Canada against the Wallaroos, Black Ferns, and Women’s Eagles though it appears USA Rugby’s financial difficulties have put their participation in jeopardy. Australia will take on New Zealand in a two-test series in August though Rugby Australia says more games are still being considered.

Further matches for Canada remain unconfirmed though a match against the Blacks Ferns seems likely.
