The first five Corinthians players have been confirmed. All of the men are regular names in Brazil’s senior men’s test side and all play in the forwards.
The highly-regarded prop, Caique Silva joins from Brazil’s most successful club of the 21st century, São José. Aged 27, Silva still has many years left in him to add to his 24 test caps. He was first capped in 2015 at the age of 22.
Back from Major League Rugby (MLR) is Arthur Bergo. The 26-year-old flanker made his debut for Brazil in 2015 and has earned 26 caps thus far. He will be a player to watch out for, given how he fit-in well at the Utah Warriors in 2019.
On of Brazil’s leading forwards in 2019 was André Arruda. The Tupis starting N8 has 29 caps for his country, but was a late bloomer with his test debut coming in 2016 at the age of 27. He is the one player signed thus far to be from a club outside of São Paulo state.
The two remaining signatures are both second-rowers. They are Poli’s Cléber Días (aged 25) and Band Saracens’ Gabriel Paganini (aged 27). The former has 31 caps for Brazil and the later 21. Both made their test debuts in 2016.
