Argentina to Face World Champions in Johannesburg

Argentina will face the world champions this year in Johannesburg. SA Rugby confirmed the home fixtures for the Springboks in 2020. They are to play six games in different venues, with the three July Internationals taking place on the coast, while the Rugby Championship matches are to be in the country’s north.

South Africa will host Scotland for two matches in July and also host Georgia. All matches carry meaning with the fist game against Scotland set to bring an end to an era as it will be the final test match played at the Newlands Stadium. The match against Georgia is a new beginning as the Easten Europeans get to tour not just a Tier 1 country, but face the world champions.

South Africa’s fourth home game will be in the opening round of the Rugby Championship. Inn the first of two matches between the teams, the Springboks will face Los Pumas at Ellis Park on August 08. One week later Argentina will play host to South Africa in San Juan.

For rounds five and six of the Rugby Championship, South Africa will play host to Australia in Pretoria, and New Zealand in Nelspruit.
