Final squads for Sydney Sevens

The second stop of the Oceania leg on the World Sevens Series takes place in Sydney this weekend. As with Hamilton, both men and women will take part in a condensed two-day format. The tournament takes place at Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta beginning Friday evening on the Americas.

Live broadcasts for all games will be available on the CBC Sports website in Canada, NBC Sports Gold in the USA, and ESPN in Latin and South America.

WOMEN

The women’s bracket starts things off with a rarity as all three Americas teams are in competing in Pool B alongside Fiji. Canada is the highest ranked in the pool in 3rd place overall after four tournaments, with the USA just behind in 4th. Brazil are currently in 11th, the lowest-ranked of the core teams.

Las Yaras have retained the same roster in the main squad with the only change coming in the alternate spot as Beatriz Muhlbauer withdraws and is replaced by Franciele Martins.

Canada have called Pam Buisa into the tournament group as Caroline Crossley drops out. Uncapped Asia Hogan takes over the alternate spot.

Changes in the USA roster see Naya Tapper named as an alternate and Jordan Matyas left out entirely Cheta Emba moves back into the starting roster with Joanne Fa’avesi set for her first action of the season.
