Dylan Fawsitt named captain of Rugby United New York

Rugby United New York have confirmed their on-field leadership group for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. Stepping up into the captaincy role is Dylan Fawsitt, with incumbent skipper Mike Petri one of two vice-captains along with fellow USA international Nate Brakeley.

The change does not come as a surprise. Petri is now 35 years old and though he remains an important leader on and off the pitch, with Marcus Walsh and new recruit Jason Higgins also pressing for the No9 shirt is unlikely to equal the 15 starts he had in 2019.

Fawsitt captained the side during their 2018 exhibition campaign and did so against the Glendale Raptors in April. Brakeley also led the side once in the 2019 campaign, assuming the role in the absence of Petri and Fawsitt against Austin in San Antonio.
