Agen with Zafra Conquer Bayonne

With Andrés Zafra in the starting line-up, Agen were 23-22 winners got over Bayonne. The Colombian wore the number 4 shirt as he packed down in the second-row. He was joined by new recuit, Argentine prop Jerónimo Negrotto who was a 57th minute replacement.

The result was a massive boost to the club’s goal of avoiding relegation to the Pro D2. The club won four points, doing so on the road against a club which is a contender to drop to the second division.

Agen’s win takes the club up to 22 points in the standings, placing them in 13th position overall. Bottom of the table are Stade Français with 20 while the loss sees Bayonne occupying 10th place with 24. The standings indicate that the season will go down to the wire with Bayonne, Castres, Pau, Agen, and Stade Français all currently in danger of being relegated.
