Argentina send experience to Hamilton 7s

Argentina have sent an experienced team to New Zealand for this weekend’s Hamilton Sevens. A squad of 14 has been named that will also travel to Sydney for next weekend’s second stop of the Oceania leg on the World Sevens Series.

Gerónimo Prisciantelli is the only player from the Cape Town tournament in December that does not make the trip. His spot goes to new cap Rodrigo Isgro, a standout winger who makes the jump directly from Los Pumitas. Also called is playmaker Tomás Vanni for the first time this season.

A surprise absentee is Bautista Ezcurra. The Olympic starter recently returned to the squad from Los Jaguares but will not travel south, instead left to continue his training with an eye to possible inclusion on the North American leg at the end of next month.

The team has been drawn in a difficult Pool D along with Fiji, Australia, and Samoa. Argentina enter the tournament in 4th place overall, the highest rank of any Americas side.
