Free Jacks confirm two preseason games

The New England Free Jacks have confirmed two preseason matches ahead of their inaugural Major League Rugby campaign. Both will be against the same opponent – the New England Independents.

Hosted at the Union Point Sports Complex in Weymouth under the all-weather dome, the first match will be on Saturday, January 18, with kickoff slated for 3:30pm local time. The second is just six days later on Friday, January 24, with kickoff at 8:30pm local. Entrance is free for the public.

The Independents are an invitational side comprised of selected talent from local clubs. Players will have the opportunity to test themselves against the Free Jacks roster while also putting them in the shop window for possible future MLR contracts.

Among the overseas talent lining up for New England this season are international prop trio Tolu Fahamokioa, Donald Brighouse, and Kensuke Hatakeyama. The Free Jacks open their regular season with a neutral venue clash against Rugby United New York in Las Vegas on February 9.
