Old Glory signs Eagles hooker Mike Sosene-Feagai

Old Glory DC have bolstered their squad with more front row talent. Joining Springbok star Tendai Mtawarira at the expansion team for the 2020 Major League Rugby season is USA international Mike Sosene-Feagai. The 5-times capped Eagle hooker arrives from Auckland, New Zealand.

After representing Samoa at u20 level, Sosene-Feagai opted to throw his hat in for the USA at test level. He debuted for the Eagles in the 2016 Americas Rugby Championship but was then absent from the squad until being recalled for the 2019 Pacific Nations Cup.

It was Sosene-Feagai’s form in the Mitre 10 Cup that returned him to test contention. The 26-year-old played every game for Auckland during their title-winning campaign of 2018, he then rejoined the team this year after being released from the Eagles squad ahead of the World Cup.

This will be the second stint in American professional rugby for Sosene-Feagai. He played for the San Diego Breakers in the 2016 PRO season, also suiting up for Hawke’s Bay in New Zealand. Sosene-Feagai follows Auckland teammate Danny Tusitala to Old Glory.
