Andrew Durutalo leaves Ealing, returns to Fiji

Former Eagles back row Andrew Durutalo has left English Championship club Ealing Trailfinders with immediate effect. The 32-year-old has decided to return home to his family in Fiji. He is taking a break from the sport entirely, possibly signalling the end of his professional career.

Durutalo announced his retirement from international rugby in May 2018 after 22 test appearances and 40 World Sevens Series tournaments. He played in both the 2015 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics. Born in New York but raised in Suva, he represented Fiji at age grade levels while attending university in Japan.

After a season of Super Rugby with the Sunwolves in 2016, Durutalo signed for Ealing but was quickly snapped up by Premiership club Worcester after several man-of-the-match performances. He would return to Trailfinders ahead of the 2018-19 campaign and has been a regular starter since.
