Chris Wyles Named in English Premiership Team of the Decade

The career of the retired Chris Wyles has been acknowledged by Premiership Rugby. The former USA Eagles captain was named by the organization in the Team of the Decade, as the left winger with the most Premiership appearances in England over the 2010-2019 period.

Wyles joined Saracens from the Northampton Saints in 2008 and remained at the club until retiring in May 2018. In al, he made 255 appearances for the club. He came out of retirement for one further Saracens appearance in the 2018-2019 English Premiership season.

Wyles was an integral part of Saracens. He scored two tries for the club in the 2018 English Premiership Final. His side were 27-10 winners over the Exeter Chiefs. Victory in the final saw Wyles winning his sixth title with Saracens. He won the English Premiership in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2018; and the European Champions Cup in 2016, and 2017.

For the Eagles Wyles appeared in three RWCs 2007, 2011 and 2015. He was a try scorer in all three tournaments, crossing against South Africa in 2007, Italy in 2011 and both Samoa and Japan in 2015. He also captained the Eagles 7’s team from 2007-2009; and he competed at the Rio Olympics.
