The Toronto Arrows have confirmed their preseason plans for the upcoming 2020 Major League Rugby season. Included is a mini-camp in Las Vegas and an indoor scrimmage in Buffalo.
With the start of the regular season just six weeks away, the Arrows are welcoming their international players back to training this week. The team will depart for Vegas in the second week of January with an exhibition contest against the Utah Warriors scheduled for January 18 at a venue to be confirmed.
After returning to home base, it will be a short road trip to Buffalo Bills territory where the Arrows will play an indoor contract scrimmage against Rugby United New York at the ADPRO Field House on January 25. Last year’s training session with RUNY turned into an intra-squad match for Toronto after a bus accident left the hosts stranded and unable to participate.
It’s a limited schedule contact-wise but one designed to keep the players fresh for what will be an arduous campaign. The regular season opens for the Arrows on Sunday, February 9, in Austin with only one weekend off – in mid-March – between then and June.
