Santiago Cordero Stars as Bordeaux Conquer Pau

Argentine speedster delivered a fine performance today as he scored two tries in a winning effort. Bordeaux were 27-23 winners on the road against Pau, a result that would not have been possible without Cordero’s two tries.

In his first try, Cordero chased a cross-kick and just managed to dot it down in time. His second try was also a chase and also saw him being the first man to the ball.

Cordero was not selected for RWC 2019 with Mario Ledesma instead putting faith in Jaguares. It meant Matías Moroni was rewarded for a strong Super Rugby season though would play the RWC out of position on the wing. The finishing abilities of Cordero were badly missed.

Bordeaux’s away win sees the club remaining at the peak of the Top 14. After 12 rounds of the season Bordeaux are in first position with 42 points. In second sit Lyon with 40 points. Between them and third is a massive gap as Toulon have 29 points.
