Maxime Sonneveld Joins Peñarol from Los Teritos

Peñarol continues to announce recruits for the 2020 Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR). A player for the future to have signed is Maxime Sonneveld, who joins Peñarol from Los Teritos. The Uruguayan u20s player comes from Old Boys Club in Montevideo.

Sonneveld played for Uruguay in this year’s Junior World Trophy. He started at flanker against KenyaJapanBrazil, and Tonga. Also playing in the tournament was fellow Peñarol signings Baltazar Amaya, and Juanjuan Garese.

Sonneveld is the sixth back-rower on the Peñarol roster. He follows senior players Alejandro Nieto, Manuel Ardao, Santiago Civetta, Leandro Segredo, and Max Katjikeko. All five played at RWC 2019 with Katjikeko doing so for Namibia. He is set to arrive in Uruguay in the coming days.
