Pieretto Set for English Premiership Debut

Enrique Pieretto is set for his English Premiership debut. He has been named on the bench for the Exeter Chiefs who take-on the Leicester Tigers on Saturday. Pieretto will be up against two countrymen with Tomás Lavanini starting for the Tigers and Facundo Gigena named on the bench.

All three of Pieretto, Gigena, and Lavanini moved to England from Los Jaguares. In the case of Pieretto, he had a busy 2019 with 17 appearances for Los Jaguares. He was the regular replacement for Santiago Medrano though he did start four matches.

In both 2016 and 2017 Pieretto played eight Super Rugby matches while in 2018 he played none. Injury saw him out of rugby for the entirety of the campaign. It worked out well for Medrano who was a rookie and went on to become a permanent part of Los Pumas.

Pieretto was the third-choice tight head prop for Argentina in 2019. He was behind Juan Figallo, and Santiago Medrano at RWC 2019. This same the 24-year-old, making one appearance in the tournament.
