The venues have been confirmed for Los Jaguares’ two home matches against the Georgia XV in January. The Eastern Europeans will play two matches as warm-up’s ahead of international competition for the senior men’s team; while Los Jaguares will have the matches as warm-up’s before the Super Rugby opening fixture against the Lions on February 01.
The first of the two matches will be at the estadio José María Minella in Mar del Plata on January 17. It is to be the first home match for Los Jaguares played outside of Buenos Aires’ Vélez Sarsfield.
Game two between Los Jaguares and the Georgia XV will be in Buenos Aires but at San Isidro Club (SIC). The fixture will take place on January 24. Located in the northern Buenos Aires suburbs, SIC is a traditional venue in the rugby heartland.
Los Jaguares are presently finalizing the first phase of their pre-season training. They will continue doing so until December 23 before resuming on January 02 2020 in Tandil.
This season’s preparation is unlike 2016-2019 due to the establishing of Los Ceibos. The Córdoba based side will compete in South America’s new professional rugby competition, the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) which begins one month after the start of the Super Rugby season.
