Landry, Benn, and Kelter named in Cape Town Dream Team

Three North American players have been named in the official HSBC Dream Team for the Cape Town Sevens. Ghislaine Landry, Britt Benn, and Alev Kelter were each rewarded for their efforts in the select side nominated by the tournament commentary team.

For both Landry and Benn it’s consecutive selections with the duo getting the nod in Dubai last weekend as well. Landry captained Canada to a Bronze Final victory with her 27 points in the tournament pushing her to 100 on the season. Benn gets the unique distinction of being selected as a forward after being named as a back in Dubai.

It’s an impressive feat for Kelter, who topped the tournament in points with 44 despite playing only four games. She is now the overall series leader with 121 in three tournaments, moving 18 points clear of second-place Sharni Williams of Australia.

Williams joins Benn in the forwards alongside Niall Williams of New Zealand – younger sister of Sonny Bill. Kelly Brazier also represents the champions with Australian flyer Ellia Green rounding out the backs with Kelter and Landry.
