Houston sign Nicolás Solveyra from Argentina

Player recruitment for the 2020 Major League Rugby season continues. The latest foreign signature for an MLR club is loosehead prop Nicolás Solverya. The uncapped 24-year-old departs Argentina for MLR after playing regularly for the Argentina XV.

Having won titles playing for the Argentina XV and Jaguares XV, Solveyra was a candidate for Los Jaguares for 2020. With this having missed out on an opportunity he has decided to move to the USA for MLR rather than play in the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby.

Solveyra is the third Argentine player to join the MLR in recent days. He follows Julián Domínguez who will play for NOLA Gold and Juan Manuel Leguizamón who will play for the Seattle Seawolves. More are expected with former Pumas hooker Diego Fortuny also set to join Houston.
