Chile to play Uruguay for spot in Junior World Trophy

Chile and Uruguay have set up a winner-take-all match for a place in the 2020 Junior World Trophy. The two South American countries won their respective Sudaméricano u19 matches in Montevideo on Wednesday.

Chile were convincing winners over Paraguay. Their 52-14 victory saw them in the lead throughout. They converted a 28-7 half-time lead into a virtually doubled scoreline on full-time.

Uruguay were also much better than their opposition team. The 45-0 victory saw Brazil exhausted with Los Teritos giving selectors reason to consider players for Los Teros in 2020.

In addition to playing for a place in the 2020 Junior World Trophy the four teams are also competing for spots in the new Americas u20s Championship. The top three from the Sudaméricano u19 will qualify for the competition.
