Seawolves re-sign hooker Stephan Coetzee

Another starter from Seattle’s title-defending team has been signed up for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. South African hooker Stephan Coetzee will continue with the Seawolves after making a considerable impact in his first season with the team.

Coetzee was an ever-present in the lineup after signing on from the Southern Kings. He played in all 18 games during the season, starting 16 and his 8 tries equaled the team-leading mark set by Riekert Hattingh and Mat Turner. The 27-year-old was among MLR’s best set piece operators in 2019.

Seattle have now officially confirmed the names of a dozen returnees with more soon to follow. The current departure list stands at six with four newcomers.
