Colorado Raptors sign All Black Rene Ranger

The Colorado Raptors have signed former All Black winger Rene Ranger. The Major League Rugby side announced the recruitment of the 33-year-old for the upcoming 2020 season.

The signing of Ranger is the second high profile international signing following the recent arrival of Wallaby Digby Ioane. Like Ioane, Ranger has had a decorated career which has seen him succeed in a multitude of locations.

Ranger was an All Black from 2010-2013 before leaving New Zealand. He departed for France to join Montpellier on a two-year-deal. He was a stand-out performer in the Top 14 and would return to Super Rugby to possibly add to his prior test caps.

Two years of Super Rugby followed for the Blues before he again moved to France, this time for La Rochelle. There he was again an impressive athlete. His career subsequently saw him playing the domestic championship in New Zealand before a move to Japan in 2018.
