Angus MacLellan extends Utah stay

Angus MacLellan will stay in Utah for a third Major League Rugby campaign. The US Eagles prop signed a new deal to remain with the Warriors for the 2020 season, the first officially confirmed returning player from 2019 with four newcomers announced to date.

Originally from Michigan, MacLellan first broke into professional rugby with the Ohio Aviators during the 2016 PRO season. The former Davenport Panthers standout won the most recent of his 5 test caps in February 2018, but played for the USA Selects last October during the Americas Pacific Challenge.

MacLellan has been an essential component to the Warriors scrum across their two seasons, starting all 25 games for the franchise at No3 including their 2018 Semi Final appearance. He is the current MLR leader for most minutes played at prop, but should see his workload reduced in 2020 with the recent addition of Kalolo Tuiloma.
