Old Glory sign Golden Bears captain Nic Mirhashem

Cal Golden Bears captain Nic Mirhashem has signed for Old Glory DC. The openside flanker will join the expansion team for the 2020 Major League Rugby season having led Cal to a second-place finish in the Division 1-A National Championship earlier this year.

Mirhashem, 22, was born and raised in Barcelona and represented Spain up to u18 level. He holds dual-citizenship and was also a High School All-American Sevens representative. At Cal, Mirhashem won Varsity Cup titles in 2016 and 2017 and earned a starting role for the Collegiate All-Americans against the Canadian Universities side in July.

Old Glory already boast fellow Cal standout Jack Iscaro and have added Penn State pair Jack McLean and Mike Dabulas for their first regular season campaign. The team played four exhibition games in the spring and will officially open their MLR account against the NOLA Gold in New Orleans on February 8.
