Old Glory signs Auckland scrumhalf Danny Tusitala

Old Glory DC have announced the signing of Auckland scrumhalf Danny Tusitala for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 28-year-old has won three test caps for Samoa and also represented the country in a dozen tournaments on the World Sevens Series.

Tusitala grew up in Auckland and played for the Ponsonby club before getting the call to play for Samoa on the HSBC circuit in early 2016. He then made three appearances off the bench for the Manu that year including the win over Canada in November. An overseas contract with French Pro D2 club Aurillac followed in 2017 and this past season he played all but one match for Auckland in the Mitre 10 Cup.

Former USA u20 select Michael Reid is also on the books at Old Glory and will be competing for time at scrumhalf. The club has 14 players confirmed for the upcoming campaign, their first regular season in MLR. They open against the NOLA Gold in New Orleans on Saturday, February 8.
