Ireland’s captain from RWC 2019, Rory Best has been confirmed to play for the Barbarians vs Brazil. He will do so on November 20 in the international match at São Paulo’s Estádio Morumbi.
Aged 37, Best played his final match for Ireland in the RWC Quarter Finals. The Irish were eliminated by New Zealand in what was Best’s 124 test match appearance. During his career Best won four Six Nations titles and was also a Pro 14 champion with Ulster.
In addition to facing Brazil the Barbarians will also play against Fiji. That fixture is to be played at London’s Twickenham Stadium on November 16.
Best will join Argentina’s Ramiro Herrera as the front-rowers for the match. Among the other players set to feature are South African scrum-half Herschel Jantjies and former French center Mathieu Bastareaud. The latter is to play Major League Rugby (MLR) in 2020 for RU New York.
