Domingo Miotti has signed a long-term deal with the UAR. The contract sees him under the total control of the Argentine rugby union and with it he will be available for Jaguares and Pumas. The signature follows the earlier extension of Joaquín Díaz Bonilla, seeing the leading fly halves from 2019 both retained for 2020.
Bonilla is presently in France as a medical joker for Racing 92. The club has competed thus far in the 2019-2020 op 14 season without RWC fly halves Finn Russell (Scotland), and Ben Volavola (Fiji). Bonilla is to return to Jaguares for the 2020 Super Rugby campaign.
Aged 23 Miotti is seven years younger than Bonilla. Unlike Bonilla there Tucumán native is yet to be capped but it is a foregone conclusion that he is a Puma in waiting.
Los Pumas Head Coach Mario Ledesma went to RWC 2019 without a Jaguars fly half. He instead opted for Nicolás Sánchez (Stade Français), and Benjamín Urdapilleta (Castres). Both men are in tough positions to further their test careers in the post RWC 2019 era.
Miotti’s long-term deal sees him contracted on a full-time basis until the end of 2022. Curiously he is a produce of the same club as Sánchez, Tucumán Lawn Tennis. Both players broke through from the junior ranks with Miotti being a Pumita in 2014-2016.
