Argentina Qualify for RWC 2023

Argentina will be among the competitors at RWC 2023 in France. Los Pumas officially qualified for the competition earlier today when they defeated the USA 47-17 in Kumagaya, Japan.

The impressive performance from Argentina against the Eagles means the South Americans final placing in Pool C is third. RWC tournament rules state that the top three from each pool qualify directly for the subsequent RWC.

The USA therefore will need to qualify for RWC 2023 against regional opposition from the Americas. The qualifying path is still being agreed upon though it has been made public that the Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) will replace the former model meaning there will no longer be a north-south split in the Americas.

Argentina’s official goal for RWC 2019 was to reach the Quarter Finals. Having been unable to achieve this the team management will begin their debrief and identifying the pathway forward.
