SIC Win URBA Top 12 Final In Overtime

After an eight year wait SIC were victorious today to win the URBA Top 12 Final. The title win came in overtime with Joaquín Lamas landing a drop goal to give SIC a dramatic 22-19 win over Belgrano.

The match was a tightly-fought contest in which either side crossed for one try each. In the first half it was a tension-filled match with defense dominating as the teams were locked into a 6-6 half-time scoreline.

In the second half there were two further penalties as well as the tries. Joaquín Lamas provided an assist score with a kick though which was gathered by Carlos Pirán who off-loaded to Gastón Arias to dive over under the posts for SIC.

Belgian hit-back with a try warded following consultation with the TMO. The pick-and-go score saw the teams dar level at 19-19 with time running out.

To determine the URBA Top 12 champion for 2019 the match went into overtime. The title was secured by SIC with Joaquín Lamas slotting a difficult opportunity which saw the players erupting with delight.

On a day in which Argentina crashed to a hammering defeat in the Rugby World Cup there was happiness for SIC players and supporters.
