Bolivia Face Paraguay in Historic First Showdown

Bolivia are to face Paraguay in a historic first showdown. In the inaugural international between the countries Los Yákares will play host to Los Colorados in Asunción, Paraguay on Friday.

The international fixture is being promoted as a test match. Officially it is unsanctioned though both the Paraguayan Rugby Union (URP) and the Bolivian Rugby Union (FBR) are promoting the match.

It is to be played at CURDA Rugby club on Friday evening. Kick-off is scheduled for 8pm which will see the game concluding roughly three hours before the Rugby World Cup match between Australia and Fiji. Argentina vs France will follow as will New Zealand vs South Africa.

For Bolivia the fixture will officially be the second time that Los Colorados compete in international competition. The first was against a developmental side from the northern Argentine province of Salta. Friday’s match will be country vs country.

Paraguay vs Bolivia is to be the first match for Bolivia to count towards Americas Rankings. As a starting point Bolivia has 30.00 points while Paraguay is 9th in the Americas with 46.91 points.
