How to watch the Rugby World Cup in the Americas

The Rugby World Cup kicks off this coming Friday, September 21, with the Webb Ellis Cup Final set for Saturday, November 2. Millions of fans across the Americas will be watching the tournament with four teams representing the region – Argentina, Canada, Uruguay, and the USA. There are three main broadcasters as outlined below.

Those in Canada can watch on TSN. The majority of games will be broadcast live on TSN 1 with a few exceptions available only on their digital streaming platforms. Some games will also be broadcast simultaneously on TSN 3 or 4. In addition, there will be a Match of the Day featured in the afternoon with varying times between 2pm and 4pm Eastern.

[UPDATE: TSN have updated their schedule and ALL games will now be available on television.]

NBC has secured the rights to RWC 2019 in the USA. All games will be available live and on demand on NBC Sports Gold but it requires a $200 subscription fee. The good news is that the online pass can be used by up to 10 IP addresses, making it possible to share the cost with others.

[UPDATE: NBC has now set a limit of 4 simultaneous devices for their subscription pass.]

Roughly half of the pool games will also be available on NBC Sports Network – including all USA Eagles matches – with the Finals also airing on NBCSN. Two games are currently scheduled for NBC – New Zealand vs South Africa (Sept 21) and New Zealand vs Namibia (Oct 6) – though that is subject to change.

Those in Latin and South America can watch the entirety of the tournament on ESPN 3. All games for Uruguay will also be available on Canal 10.

A permanent broadcast schedule for the entire tournament can be seen here. It will be updated throughout the competition as further information is confirmed.
