Old Glory confirm Dylan Taikato-Simpson signing

Old Glory DC have confirmed that Dylan Taikato-Simpson will play for the team in their inaugural Major League Rugby campaign. The New Zealand-born fullback makes the move east after spending the 2019 campaign in Colorado with the Glendale Raptors.

Taikato-Simpson proved an inspired addition for the Raptors this past season. ‘DTS’ started 15 of 16 games, scoring six tries while creating numerous others. The 29-year-old featured heavily on year-end highlight reels with his dazzling footwork and attacking flair.

It will be a new-look Glendale team in 2020 with Dave Williams replaced by Peter Borlase as Head Coach and stalwarts Zach Fenoglio, Casey Rock, Peter Dahl, and Max de Achaval retired. Further departures include Max Lum, Jason Damm, Malon Al-Jiboori, Will Magie, and Harley Davidson.

Confirmed arrivals for DC include Gordon Fullerton, Jack McLean, and Mike Dabulas with Canadian back row Travis Larsen also en route from Austin Elite. Among those returning from their spring campaign are Josh Brown, Jack Iscaro, Ryan Burroughs, Michael Reid, and Vetekina Malafu.
