Renaldo Bothma Retires Ahead of RWC

Renaldo Bothma has announced his retirement ahead of RWC 2019. The name of the Namibian N8 will thereby not be on the 31-man roster set to be confirmed tomorrow by Namibia to compete in Japan.

In making the announcement on social media Bothma wished Namibia the best of luck at the World Cup. His retirement is from international duty while he will continue to play rugby for the Harlequins in the English Premiership.

Bothma is among the leading Namibian test players. He has 17 caps for the country with the last having been last November against Spain. His debut was in 2014 against Kenya while at RWC 2015 he would play three matches, taking on Georgia, New Zealand, and Tonga.

Namibia are pooled with Canada, Italy, New Zealand, and South Africa at RWC 2019. The match against Canada will be in Kamaishi on Sunday, October 13.
