Travis Larsen set to join Old Glory

Austin Elite have gone from two Larsens to zero in the space of a couple months. With Josh Larsen already confirmed for the New England Free Jacks, older brother Travis Larsen will also join an expansion side – the dynamic loose forward is headed to Old Glory DC for the 2020 Major League Rugby season.

The two brothers were able to play together for the first time in their careers this past season at Austin. Both were key members of the pack, with Josh acting as vice-captain and Travis starting the bulk of the campaign at No8. The latter appeared in all but one match during the season with only captain Ben Mitchell playing more minutes.

With Old Glory and New England both in the East Conference this season, it appears the Larsen brothers will now have he opportunity to play opposite each other. Travis isn’t the only established MLR player headed to Washington DC. More are set to be unveiled in the coming weeks as DC look to build a competitive side straight out of the gate.
