Highlights – South Africa vs Argentina

South Africa and Argentina continued their respective RWC warm-up onfield preparations today. They did so with a meeting outside of the Rugby Championship with the hosts winning 24-18.

South Africa scored twice through winger Sbu Nkosi while Argentina’s two tries were scored by forwards Guido Petti, and Pablo Matera. Los Pumas had two additional tries disallowed. There first saw referee Luke Pearce deeming Sebastián Cancelliere to have knocked-on and the second with Pearce determining Jerónimo de la Fuente to have committed obstruction.

Both calls went the way of the home side as did additional decisions including a potential penalty try not given in which Joaquín Tuculet was pushed while in the air over the try line.

Los Pumas now return home awaiting the final decision from Mario Ledesma for the 31-man roster. Ledesma will make the announcement on Monday with the team to then travel to Australia where they will train en route to Japan.

South Africa will arrive in Japan a week earlier than Argentina. They will do so to play their final RWC 2019 warm-up match which will be against Japan in Kumagaya on September 06. Argentina play a warm-up match on September 07 against Randwick in Sydney.
