Eagles On the Mend for World Cup

USA Eagles players are on the mend for RWC 2019. USA Rugby has confirmed that the sidelining of injured players Nick Civetta, and AJ MacGinty is temporary. Both men were injured while playing for the USA while on recent international duty.

Civetta was injured in the USA’s 47-19 home win over Canada last month. The second-rower suffered a lower limb injury and is currently undergoing a rehabilitation regime. His fitness for World Cup duty is constantly being monitored.

MacGinty was substituted early in this past Saturday’s 34-20 loss against Japan. He went off with a minor ankle injury with Will Magie replacing him. The Sale Sharks fly half is now recovering from the knock and will be fully fit to play for the USA Eagles at the World Cup.

Aside from Civetta and MacGinty the USA has no other injury concerns. All players are thereby currently under consideration to play at RWC 2019 which begins on Friday, September 20 with hosts Japan taking on Russia in a Pool A match.

The Eagles will play in Pool C. The Pool of Death will contain Argentina, England, France, Tonga, and the USA. The North Americans will begin their campaign on Thursday, September 26 against England in Kobe.

Before then the USA Eagles will play one more test match, doing so against Canada in Vancouver on Saturday, September 07. The final roster for RWC 2019 will be announced on the following day.
