Siaosi Mahoni signs Legion extension

The San Diego Legion have confirmed a contract extension for USA international Siaosi Mahoni. Standing 6’8″ (2.03m) and tipping the scales at around 295lbs (134kg), the giant second row is is among the largest figures in Major League Rugby. Specific terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Mahoni, 22, earned his first professional contract with the San Francisco Rush during the 2016 PRO season. He made his test debut for the Eagles against Canada in the 2017 Americas Rugby Championship, with his first start coming against Chile.

Following in the footsteps of his cousin David Tameilau, Mahoni signed for Narbonne ahead of the 2017-18 season but left the French club to return stateside in 2018 and link up with the Legion. He played nine games in 2019 while struggling with a knee injury, coming off the bench in the Final against Seattle.
