The Rugby Championship concluded today with Argentina hosting South Africa in Salta. While the match attracted a capacity crowd it did little to see locals in attendance returning home smiling.
South Africa were easily the better side, running out comprehensive winners to claim the Rugby Championship title. In doing so they underlined themselves as a major contender for RWC 2019 and also underlined Argentina’s fragile position ahead of the tournament in Japan.
The two teams will meet again next weekend, this time in Pretoria. Vastly different line-ups are expected with players to be rested before the final preparation ahead of the RWC.
