BC Rugby confirms Pacific Pride schedule

BC Rugby has confirmed a 12-game schedule for the newly revamped Pacific Pride. Rugby Canada announced in April that the centralized academy program would be revived after a 14-year absence, and recently appointed Jamie Cudmore as Head Coach.

Though the team will have a full plate of fixtures, they will notably not be part of the BC Premier League, instead operating as an exhibition side. In fact all 12 of their games will be played at the home ground of their opponent. The team will not be eligible to participate in the end-of-season playoffs.

An inter-squad match will be played at Westhills Stadium on Friday, August 30, as part of a double-header before Canada’s warm-up match against the BC All-Stars. The first scheduled match as a team will be on September 28 against Castaway Wanderers at Windsor Park. They will head across the border to face the Seattle Saracens on November 23.

The Pride roster is understood to be in place and expected to be unveiled shortly.
