Americas Rankings – August 03 2019

Following the completion of international competition this weekend the Americas Rankings have been updated for August 03 2019. They take into consideration results from Pacific Nations Cup matches involving competitors from the Americas.

The USA’s 13-10 win over Samoa sees a 0.82 points gain for the Eagles. With it the Americas Rankings for August 03 2019 see the USA climbing above both Italy, and Tonga to now be ranked 13th in the World.

Canada’s 38-13 defeat against Fiji sees no change to the ranking of either country. This is based on there having been a massive gulf in points between the two which mean Fiji could not gain points from a win.

Fiji remain 9th in the world, one spot above Argentina. In 11th are Japan who gained 0.40 points in their comprehensive 41-7 win over Tonga. It means that Argentina’s ranking of 76.81 points is under street as the Japanese now have 76.62 points.

The Americas Rankings will be updated again next weekend. They will take into account results from round three of the PNC. Matches see Tonga vs Canada on Friday; USA vs Japan on Saturday; and Fiji vs Samoa also on Saturday. In the Americas Argentina will face South Africa in the Rugby Championship.
