Dean Muir returning for Legion in 2020

Dean Muir will be returning to the San Diego Legion for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The South African hooker has re-signed with the 2019 Finalists joining fellow forwards Psalm Wooching, Oti Pifeleti, and Keni Nasoqeqe in extending his stay.

It’s welcome stability for Muir, 30, who arrived in San Diego after a brief stay with the Kintetsu Liners in Japan. Between 2012 and 2018, Muir played Currie Cup rugby for the Border Bulldogs, the Valke, and Western Province, and was part of the Stormers squad for the 2018 Super Rugby season.

One of three hookers at the club in 2019, Muir played 13 games including 10 starts. He missed five games late in the season with an ankle injury but returned in time to play a part in both the Semi Final against Rugby United New York and the Final opposite the Seattle Seawolves.
