USA outlast Brazil to win Men’s Bronze in Lima

The USA outlasted Brazil to win the men’s Bronze Medal at Lima 2019. With Colombia defeating Brazil in the Women’s Bronze Final the result means that Brazil misses out on a medal despite having been in the final four in both the men’s and women’s tournaments.

The dramatic Bronze Final saw the USA winning 24-19, doing so after the teams had been locked into a 19-19 half-time draw. The extremely competitive Bronze Final would ultimately go the way of the Eagles who scored the only points in the second half.

In winning Bronze the USA Men’s Eagles repeat their performance from the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. The USA were also Bronze medal winners at the inaugural Pan American Games featuring Rugby 7’s, that of Guadalajara 2011.
