In round two of the Rugby Championship Australia hosted and defeat Argentina earlier today. For both teams the match did not see the best performances though the hosts were the better side, deserving their 16-10 victory.
With 2019 being a Rugby World Cup year the Rugby Championship is reduced by 50%. This means that the only way in which Australia, and Argentina will face-off again is if they do so at RWC 2019.
The result of the match in Brisbane saw the Wallabies claiming four competition points. Argentina got a bonus point for losing by less than seven points. This means that Argentina are on 2 points and Australia 4 with one rounds remaining. South Africa and New Zealand have 7 and 6 respectively.
New Zealand, and South Africa will both be disappointed not to have won earlier today though their draw means that both are very well placed for the final round. Neither Australia nor Argentina put in performances of note today.
