Jamaica name men’s side for Pan Am Games

Jamaica have confirmed their men’s roster for the upcoming Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru. The team has been drawn in Pool B and will face an intimidating group of Argentina, Canada, and Uruguay ahead of the knock-out stage. Pool A consists of Brazil, Chile, Guyana, and the USA.

Head coach Stephen Lewis has made three changes to the squad that finished second at the Rugby Americas North tournament earlier this month. Samuel Rees, Lucas Roy-Smith, and Judah Simpson drop out with Sam Caven, Linval Green, and Reinhardo Richards called up.

The Crocs impressed in George Town, earning dominant wins over all but the professional Canada outfit, but Lima will represent a step up in competition. Lewis discussed the challenges his squad faces on the recent Rugby Wrap Up episode with Matt McCarthy.

This weekend’s matches begin on Friday with finals slated for Sunday. All games will take place at the newly constructed Villa María del Triunfo Sports Center.
