Mexico Win RAN Women’s 10’s

Mexico are the 2019 champions of the Rugby Americas North (RAN) Women’s 10’s. Played at the Bellevue Plantation Polo Club in Bridgetown, Barbados Mexico were convincing 22-0 winners over Jamaica in the Final.

Mexico powered their way to the title by seeing-off Trinidad & Tobago 34-0 in their Quarter Final. In other results the USA South were 31-5 winners against Barbados; St. Lucia downed the Dominican Republic 20-12; and Jamaica accounted for Curaçao 36-0.

The winners of the Quarter Finals advanced to the Cup Semi Finals while the losers entered the Plate Semi Finals. In the Plate Semi Finals Trinidad & Tobago, and the Dominican Republic were successful to set-up a Plate Final which would be won by the Dominican Republic in a one-score match.

The Cup Semi Finals saw Jamaica keeping St. Lucia scoreless while running in 19 points of their own. Mexico had a tougher match-up and would come out on top, winning 17-10.

Before Mexico met Jamaica in the final the remaining final positions would be determined. Firstly Barbados would avoid the wooden spoon by beating Curaçao 27-5, and from there the Dominican Republic, and USA South would end their campaigns with victories.
