Argentina goes back to the Future with RWC 2019 Kits

Argentina’s kit supplier Nike has been highly creative for RWC 2019. Both the regular and alternate jersey’s released are of notably different looking uniforms than the traditional ones worn by Los Pumas.

The regular uniform has the traditional white and sky-blue hoops though it is innovative with a look resembling a retro Pumas shirt. With a white collar it is similar to the shirt worn in the 2015 Rugby Championship win over South Africa.

Pictured below, the regular Pumas RWC 2019 shirt is not assured of being used for the bulk of Argentina’s matches in Japan. The South Americans will play in Pool C against England, France, Tonga, and the USA. Of them England, and the USA both regularly play in white.

Pictured below is the alternate Pumas jersey. It is notably different to that of the usual changed strip which is predominantly dark blue. It has three varieties of blue and patches of both gray and yellow.

The uniform designed is not only lacking white but also has the back to the future appeal of it containing vertical, rather than horizontal hoops. This is consistent with the traditional look of Argentine uniforms for sports including soccer, basketball, and hockey.

The regular jerseys are to be accompanied by white socks, and white and sky-blue hooped socks. In contrast the alternative jerseys are to be work together with dark blue shorts, and socks.

The new-look alternate uniform will be considered for Pool matches though it is not likely to be work against France. Les Bleus’ dark-blue kit will mean that Argentina’s regular kit will be utilized for that pool match.
