Jaguares XV Complete Big Win over Boland

The Jaguares XV backed-up from their opening round victory over the Griffons by completing a big win today over the Boland Kavaliers in Potchefstroom. The Argentine development side were 54-17 winners to go 2-0 in the Currie Cup First Division.

The Boland Cavaliers were behind for the full 80 minutes as Los Jaguares XV put on a performance in which they were in complete control.

The scoring began in the third minute of play with fly half Martín Elías landing a penalty. He would add two more in the opening half following his own conversion for the opening try scored by Facundo Cordero.

The only points scored by the Boland Kavaliers came in the 20th minute. The South Africans scored via the boot of fly half Joshua Vermeulen.

At the other end of the field Los Jaguares XV would score again with Corderon bagging his second try. Elias again was on target with the conversion and with it the Argentine side went into half time holding a commanding 23-3 lead.

In the second half Boland started strong. They would score first with hooker Neil Rautenbach barging his way over. Vermeulen converted to cut the deficit to 13 points.

The Argentine side would respond with seven points of their own. It came in the form of a penalty try and would be followed by another try with replacement scrum-half Gonzalo Bertranou crossing.

Another Super Rugby player, Santiago Carreras scored next. The Jaguares winger was playing this match in his natural position of fullback and was able to demonstrate his excellence. His try would be followed by two from outside center Agustín Segura while Warren Williams touched down for Boland.
