Old Glory sign Kiwi prop Gordon Fullerton

Old Glory DC have announced the signing of prop Gordon Fullerton for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. A native of Hamilton, New Zealand, the 21-year-old qualifies to play for the USA via his mother who is from Oregon.

Fullerton has most recently been playing club rugby for Te Awamutu in the Waikato Premier division, while training with the provincial side ahead of the Mitre 10 Cup. Noted for his fitness and mobility, Old Glory have targeted him for the tighthead side of the scrum though he has also played loosehead at representative age-grade level.

In November 2015 Fullerton was awarded a full scholarship to Lincoln University in Christchurch after impressing for the Waikato and Chiefs under-18 sides. He was then selected for Canterbury’s under-19 group, playing alongside All Black selects Jordie Barrett and Braydon Ennor.

One of three expansion sides for next season, Old Glory will begin their inaugural MLR campaign in February. They recently completed a four-game spring exhibition schedule, winning two and losing two.
