Americas Rankings – June 23 2019

With the June Internationals completed the Americas Rankings have been upstaged for the final time this month. The Americas Rankings for June 23 2019 take into account Saturday’s test match in Montevideo.

Uruguay’s chaotic performance against Spain saw Los Leones completing a 41-21 away victory over Los Teros. With it being a home defeat of 15+ points it corresponds into a maximum loss of points for Uruguay.

The updated Americas Rankings see Uruguay falling from 17th the 19th in the overall World Rankings. Spain trades places with Uruguay and is ranked above RWC 2019 competitors Canada, Namibia, Russia, and Uruguay.

Home defeats against Namibia, and Spain this month have punished Uruguay in the rankings. This has been replicated not only in the positioning but also  in going from being close to the USA in 2nd to now being much closer to Canada in 4th.
