Nations Cup Highlights – Uruguay vs Namibia

The bounce of the rugby ball can be unpredictable. Such was the case in Montevideo on Sunday evening as Namibia completed a historic win over Uruguay. If it had not been for a loose ball inside the Uruguayan goal area then a Namibian try would have been avoided.

Unpredictability is not a bad thing, to the contrary it is part of makes rugby the great sport that it is. In losing to Namibia there will now be payback on the mind of the Uruguay players, staff, and supporters. It helps increase the need for a return tour to Africa in the RWC 2019-2023 cycle.

Between now and the next time Uruguay and Namibia meet the bragging rights belong to the Africans. Namibia enjoyed a terrific opening quarter and would be 17-0 ahead at not point in the match. There were further twists throughout with the match ultimately decided in overtime.
